Duronto Express Trains which are specialized rail services of the Indian Railways are non-stop trains, a new venture for the Indian railway industry. The new offering of Duronto Express trains is the Allahabad - New Delhi Duronto Express, which will start from February 7, 2010. The train will run non-stop with no halts in between the two main destinations.
The train will leave every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from Allahabad at 11:15 p.m and every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday from New Delhi. The train was to be launched on Indian Republic Day on 26th January, but the foggy weather at New Delhi lead to the post-ponement of its schedule.
Apart from Allahabad-New Delhi Duronto Express, three other trains will also be launched from February 7. Kanpur-Delhi Shatabadi Express- train number 2179/2180, Agra-Lucknow Intercity- train number 2541/2542 and Gorakhpur-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus.
The Duronto Express trains are even faster than the Rajdhani Express Trains.
