[ Edit ] Chattar Manzil
Located northwest of Qaiser Bagh, Chattar Manzil meaning ‘Umbrella Palace’ got its name from its umbrella shaped gilt dome. Ghazi-ud-din Haider Khan started the construction of the Chattar Manzil but after his death it was completed by his son Nasir-ud-din Haider. The basement of the palace was constructed below the river level which helps to keep the palace keep cool at all times. Today the palace is used as an office by the Central Drug Research Institute.
