[ Edit ] Jyotiba Temple
The Jyotiba Temple is situated at a height of 3,100 feet above sea level and nestles in the mountain folds of Wadi Ratnagiri. It is about 17 kms form Kolhapur. The original temple was built in the year 1730 by Navajisaya. The interiors are very ancient and the idol is four handed.
Jyotiba is an incarnation of 3 Gods- Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh and the seer Jamadagni. The temple is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas and according to Indian Mythology, Jyotiba helped Mahalaxmi to fight the demons.
