Taj Mahal, Agra More Photos
Most people take pictures of the Taj that everyone recognises. The white marble monument, perfect symmetry and design, with its four towers (minars), in lush landscaped gardens with flowing water fountains.
I too have taken many of the same kind of pictures. However, a postcard style picture of Taj Mahal does not adequately convey the beauty and love of the monument. So, on this particular recent visit, I decided to pay attention to the little details that are as breathtaking in their details as the monument is when seen from a panoramic perspective.

So exquisite is the workmanship - the calligraphy, marble in-lay work, patterns, geometric design, and setting of the marble - that the Taj has been described as "having been designed by giants and finished by jewellers".
Examples of beautiful work includes the red sandstone entrance gate inscribed with texts from the Koran beautifully written and absolutely uniform size from whichever angle you see them; elegantly carved arches and the floral designs with perfect symmetry; geometrical patterns on the flooring throughout the complex; and fine floral motifs on in its walls of the chambers in various carefully selected shades of marble.
The photographs I have taken, hopefully, capture some of the finer details of the craftsmanship of the 20,000 workers who toiled for over 20 years to help construct this incredible monument.
